Case Study | DAYI COUNTY, CHENGDU, SICHUAN

1 . Project Background
Dayi County has intensified rural and urban sanitation upgrades in recent years. With wastewater-plant throughput climbing, more than 50 t of dewatered sludge were produced daily—high moisture, pathogens, odour. To hit the “reduction, detoxification, and recycling” targets set by the local ECO Bureau, the county launched a sludge-composting initiative.
2 . Jiesonglin Solution
In H1 2024 the county government teamed with a local environmental firm to deploy nine 300 m³ e-PTFE membrane composters from Jiesonglin Technology, creating a centralised sludge-fermentation park:
- Blend sludge with straw and rice husks to adjust C/N ratio
- Load mixture via wheel loader into compost cells
- Cover piles with high-permeability nanomembrane
- Run sealed, high-temperature aerobic fermentation (auto temp & humidity control)
- Capture & treat leachate in closed system
3 . Quantifiable Results
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Sludge processed daily | ≈55 t |
| Composting cycle | ≈25 days |
| Cost saving vs. drying + incineration | ≈35 % |
| Final product | Stable soil conditioner for farmland, nurseries, eco-restoration |
| Nuisance odour / flies | > 90 % reduction |
| Compliance | Passed provincial environmental acceptance |
4 . Government Testimonial
“The membrane-composting project not only solved our sludge bottleneck but also set a benchmark for Dayi’s green transition. The technology is stable, easy to maintain, and ready for rollout across more townships.”
